"HE IS RISEN"
Apr 27, 2012
Praise Be unto Jesus!!
We have just come through our Easter Celebration Day. “He Is Risen”! In our days and lives, we can’t say or hear this declaration enough. He is Risen so that we may live. Don’t you just love Him for all that He accomplished for us that precious day at Calvary? His unselfish act gave us the right to become Sons of God.
Children born not of natural decent, of human decision or a husband’s will, but Children born of God.
May all the Praise, Glory, Power and Honor be unto Him! The more we come to know Him,
the more we realize how much we need Him.
If you haven’t taken the time to tell Him today, do it now. We are told to come boldly, to come confidently before the throne of God. How? By the Holy Spirit that is now life within Us, by Faith, and by Believing, to receive of His Mercy, and Grace, in our time of trouble and need.
The Way of Christ is awesome and we at Hope minister to all who come through His Holy Spirit.
For it is His Holy Spirit, that brings about the Healing of Heart for all who believe.
I Love You ALL, in the Name of Jesus the Christ of Nazareth. Blessings and Life, Joe

In my personal Ministry I have been in prayer for specific direction for ministry that the Lord would guide me to pursue. I am still in prayer. The Lord is encouraging me and guiding me personally and I am confident that He has a plan and purpose for my remaining days. In the meantime, the greatest passion that I have is to abide in God’s love and to represent His love to everyone that I encounter.
Easter has come and “gone”. Some of us wonder what to do with the Easter message. Repeatedly in scripture Jesus said, “Take up your cross and follow me”. In Matthew 4:19, He says, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”. In His invitation to Phillip, He said “Come, follow me”. Then in John 10: 27, Jesus states, “My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me.
Collectively our lives are made up of billions of crosses. As we actually follow Him we begin to be aware of John 10:27 and let surrender and Easter become the primary goal of our life. The new life given to us is what Colossians 1:27 tells us is manifested to us, “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. There is a new contemporary song out titled,
I Raise My White Flag. As I do just that I begin to experience a taste of that amazing new life.
LEW GERVAIS/ADDICTIONS/PASTORAL COUNSELOR
I see no end to the epidemic of addicted men and women coming into our office at Hope Ministries. I guess that could be considered job security for an addictions counselor, but I would rather see myself worked out of a job in the not too distant future. As I read my Bible and watch the news unfold every day, I am convinced that people are going to struggle with substance abuse until long after I leave this earth.
I hear the horror stories from people who have lost everything due to their drug or alcohol problems. Some addicts are dragged into my office by well-meaning parents, spouses or friends, but they are not nearly ready to do something about their problem. It is necessary to educate and challenge them to make a decision to divorce themselves from their drug of choice. To an addict that is like taking away a baby’s security blanket and then sending him home empty and defenseless. If they can’t surround themselves with healthy people, they quickly return to the only security they know…their drug of choice. Some will go back and forth from recovery, to relapse and back to recovery again.
It can be very discouraging to one who is unfamiliar with this destructive addictive cycle. That is why I am committed to teaching the addiction and counseling classes at Hope Ministries. There are two unique groups of people who are taking these classes. Group “A” are the people who have no experience in addictive substances themselves, but who have a passion to help and counsel with addicts. Group “B” are people who are themselves in recovery, and are taking the classes to deepen their own recovery to gain insight as to why they became addicted in the first place. With either group it is a win-win situation. And the fact that I get to teach these classes means I win as well. I probably learn more than all my students put together. If anyone is interested in taking some of these classes call Hope and talk with me to see what class we are offering now.
Recycle your old computers at Hope Ministries
If you replaced your home or office computer over the Christmas holidays we would love to put your old computer to work.
We often have people come through our doors who could put a used desktop or laptop computer to good use.
If you drop them off, you can be a blessing to someone.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.There is no judgment awaiting those who trust Him. But those who do not trust Him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God. John 3: 16-18
