An Important Newsletter "Tropical Storm Fay"

Oct 13, 2008

Dear Friends,
We never expected that Hope Ministries could be physically
wiped out again by a major storm! We had two devastating hurricanes destroy our offices in 2004. The landlord made major drainage improvements
to the parking area and we thought we were safe. On August 20, 2008 Tropical Storm Fay deposited from 18 to 30 inches of rain on South Brevard County and our offices were once again devastated. Hope Ministries has relocated to temporary offices through the generosity of
Kelly Enterprises, to whom we are most grateful!
“Praise God from whom all blessings flow!”
Our first goal is to continue “helping hearts heal” in a safe and professional office environment, wherever the Lord provides Our second goal is to reach out to our friends for spiritual, physical, and financial support to Keep Hope Alive and Moving Forward!
We are very grateful for your years of friendship and look forward to many more.

We have been blessed, by the expressions of love from Church on the Rock, Tabernacle Community and His Place of Fellowship; offering gifts even from out of their needs! Very Special Brethren!

Blessings and Life, Joe

The entire facility of Hope Ministries had six or eight inches of standing rain and sewage water inside the building and over two feet in the parking lot. It took a few days for the water to drain out, by then the damage to the building and our contents was severe.

After the water receded from inside the building, we organized a team of people to pull out all the rugs, furniture, etc. from inside the building and put them into the dumpster. The team of volunteers worked hard getting all three bays emptied and cleaned. We love and appreciate them all!
We have temporarily moved to a new “dry” location with two bays and have settled in quite well. We will be operating from this building for awhile. Our phones have been transferred the phone numbers are the same. We will keep you posted as to if or when we move back to our original location. There is a lot of work that has to be done in that building to make it habitable again.

Classes are continuing at 1805 Canova St SE, Ste 1,
Palm Bay, Fl 32909,
Thursday evenings at 5:30PM

We love the new facilities! It is much larger and freshly painted, with tile flooring. We are maintaining a positive attitude concerning the consequences of the flooding.
We look to God for our sustenance, through whatever and whomever he chooses! There are hearts that need healing wherever the Lord leads us.

We have begun three new support groups: Partners (Healing from His Addiction), Sidetracked in the Wilderness
(Victorious Abundant Life) and Shelter from the Storm (Hope for Survivors of Sexual Abuse).

All three are Support Groups for Women that meet on Monday evenings from 7-8:30PM at our new location 1805 Canova St, Ste 1 SE, Palm Bay, Fl 32909, (corner of Enterprise and Canova). You turn onto Enterprise from Malabar Road one block east of Babcock Street.

Our beloved Alice is now with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
She will always remain in our hearts and the many she ministered to!
We will miss her voice, her smile and her words of wisdom.

The Angel Tree Ministry Needs You!

Angel Tree provides Christmas for children of the incarcerated and we need Churches to help us. We are asking our supporting churches to help us buy gifts for these easily forgotten children. Please call Directors Tom & Barbara Murgatroyd @ Hope Ministries 321-676-5588

Tropical Storm Fay appears to be a blessing in disguise for Hope Ministries. The move to our temporary location seems to bear that out. We have all the space we need and more.
Everyone has an office and we have several group meeting rooms and two small kitchens where we can access the coffee easily. God is so good!

The reception room is much larger too and includes a built in reception desk. Before the storm we were in the process of redecorating our facilities and had just completed painting the kitchen a few days before the storm.

Redecorating Hope Ministries was an attempt to create a fresh new atmosphere for the staff to work in and clients to enjoy.
The new location God provided has given us the very fresh new atmosphere I was hoping to achieve.
We make our plans and the Lord directs our steps! We are all grateful for His provision.

While we are happy to be able to minister at the new location, it is important to report that we did sustain a large financial setback, as a result of the storm. We lost computers, furniture, personal items and important documents and incurred cost of the move, transferring utilities and preparing the offices for computer use.

I am asking God for His direction for the “Fundraising Event” that we might host to help offset loss. We need your prayers and financial support more than ever during this transitional time. Please feel free to contact me with your ideas, comments and/or, you’re willingness to volunteer.
