Dear Friends,

We thank you for your ongoing gifts and prayers. Let me take a few minutes to bring you up to speed as to the happenings at Hope Ministries. First of all we had to temporarily move our counseling offices to a new location for at least the next two months while we repair all the damage from the flood. God has been opening doors like no one else can. First of all several friends of the ministry gave us furniture to replace all that was destroyed in the flood. Also someone else made two empty units available for us for free. All we need to do is pay the electricity bill. It is located about five miles south from our present location. We spent most of the week picking up donated furniture and moving everything else out of our present offices to the temporary one. It looks like the landlord’s insurance will cover the cost of fixing all the walls and replacing the floors, doors, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, moldings and paint for all the walls. So, when everything is said and done we will have a completely rebuilt building to move back into. One of Hope Ministries’ board members is also a contractor so he is willing to work with us to get our offices put back together. He is also willing to allow us to utilize volunteers and bless the ministry with whatever money is left over when the construction is done.

Micah has been home for two weeks now. That is the longest he has been home in many years. He took leave so that he could have his eyes operated on to correct his vision. He had to stay home for a week and wear sunglasses but he is now better than normal. He no longer needs glasses or contact lenses. That has to be freeing to wake up and be able to see without searching the nightstand for your eyeglasses. It was great having him around the house for an extended stay. He was able to help us move Hope’s offices last week. He also helped Barb’s dad make some shutters for hurricane protection.

Mikala has been offered a full-time position teaching 3rd grade in a charter school called, “Imagine.” She is now officially on her own now. Barb went over there and helped Mikala get her class set up and organized. Mikala will be turning 22 on the 23rd of this month; golly, my little girl is all grown up. I know she will make an excellent teacher just like her mother.

I have a few prayer requests that we would like you to lift up in prayer for us. Here they are:
•   Pray for me as I organize a team of volunteers to fix our offices at Hope.
•   Pray for Barb and I as we continue to search for a new church home.
•   Pray also for Mikala as she also looks for a new church home. You can also lift her up in prayer as she gets into the swing of teaching.
•   Pray for me as I teach on sexual addictions at a recovery conference in West Palm Beach this coming weekend.
•   I also need pray as I juggle my responsibilities at Hope with the classes I teach, the groups I lead, the one-on-one counseling I do; and now adding construction to that list. Just pray for wisdom as I organize me schedule.

Because of Christ,

Lew
