December 12, 2007
2007 Has been another year of seeing God"s gifts of greatness and power. In many ways it has been a year of challenges and practicing the Holy But. What does that mean you wonder? It's like this: "We have this treasure inearthen vessels, so that the supassing greatness of thepower will be of God and not from ourselves"; we are afflicted in every way,BUT not crushed; perplexed, BUT not despairing; persecuted, BUT not forsaken; struck down, BUT not destroyed; 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 The Mundy version has looked like this; Micah moved to Nashville in January. We miss him, BUT in May he proposed to his beloved Mallory and so we are adding a new daughter to our family next July! Caleb is spending most of November and December in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, far away from home, family and friends, BUT he has steady work for six weeks. Jessica, Andrew and Jack moved from Miami to northern North Carolina in June. We miss them very much also BUT we are so thankful for our newest grandson, Austin Richard, born to them August 22, and for Andrew's successes in being accepted at several medical schools for the 2008 fall term. Howard has had continuing struggles with the depression he has been dealing with, BUT he is much improved. He has also had many physical issues, the latest being two kidney stones that had to be blasted But they are gone and he is recovering well. Those are some samples of how the Holy But works. The stuff first and God's truth last. At this Christmas season, we could come up with a long list of "stuff". BUT... "The angel of the Lord said to them,"do not be afraid. I brig you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord". At this season of celebrating God's most wonderful gift to His people, we want to thank you once again for standing with us in prayer and support, as we seek to fulfill our calling of"Helping Hearts Heal". May you have a blessed Christmas,in spite of the "stuff", walking in the But. In His Tender Care, Howard and Lucy
