Praise Be Unto Our Jesus!!!
Our hearts and prayers go out to all the survivors of Hurricane Harvey. May God continue to give them strength through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is a time to express all the wonderful fruit of the Holy Spirit in the natural realm, it would be wonderful if we could count on our news media to be an expression of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Goodness and Self Control. Instead of trying to be fault finders while the crises’ are still in progress. Guess I am just getting anxious for some of Heaven or just plain old tired of all the Sinicism of the world. So thankful and grateful for all that Jesus accomplished on the cross for us all who believe in His name. As a matter of fact and you might want to join me right now or later or both to, “Thank Our Father”, for letting us accomplish the single most important thing a human will ever do; to become “Born Again of Jesus’ Holy Spirit.” There will never be anything we will ever do on earth, even becoming the President of the United States of America, which could compare to receiving Eternal Life through the Son! I pray for all of us to say “AMEN, AMEN, AMEN”
If not please call me (Joe) at Hope 321-676-5588 and we will talk and or meet. Praying for us all until we all come to the fullness and reach the unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Thank you all for your prayers and support of Hope Ministries, where we are “Helping Hearts Heal” Blessings and Life! In Christ, Joe
LEW GERVAIS, ADDICTIONS/PASTORAL COUNSELOR
A few weeks ago heroin addiction took another life here. This is becoming way too common and the scenario always plays out the same way. The person seeks help for their opiate addiction. After several attempts they manage to get and stay sober for six months or longer; then out of the blue they relapse. The mistake many people make is assuming that they can shoot up the same amount that they were shooting before they came in for help. However while they were clean their tolerance level went way down. When they shoot up the same amount of heroin that they use to shoot it proves deadly for many including this 26 year old guy. The names and ages might change every week but the scenario and end results are always the same. Last year there were over 50,000 Americans who died from a drug overdose and that statistic is going to be much higher this year. After almost 100 years of fighting the war on drugs it should be obvious by now that we are not winning this war. If we took the millions of dollars that we spend every year to arrest, convict and incarcerate addicts and used that money for rehabilitation we might see those numbers start to decline. When someone gets help and manages to stay clean for a season then relapses they usually are too ashamed to come back for help. Once they have lost HOPE they go downhill quickly.
I read this poem a few months ago by Vernon Terrell. I believe this is what people who have lost Hope need to hear.
Is this on the cross? Does Grace cover all; even, a callous and willful deliberate fall?
Choices that led down a path I knew well, forward I went, knowing soon I could fail.
God's voice grew fainter each step of the way, ignoring his prompting and shunning His grace.
Deception took hold and emotions grew strong, emboldening the lies that led me along.
I was caught in the Trap; I took hold of the bait;
Temptation had won and determined my fate.
So, is this on the cross? Does Grace cover all; even, my callous and willful deliberate fall?
Yes, and yes, and yes I Proclaim, even this is covered through the blood in His name!
This deliberate sin, as bad as it was,
Was nailed to the cross an act of His love.
You cannot out sin the grace of the Lord, He's provided for this, and so much more.
So do we just sin? May it never be!
You're dead to that stuff, do not be deceived!
He wants you to walk as the person you are, Holy and righteous in His power and His love.
Now dust yourself off, thank God for his grace;
In the strength of the Lord take your next step of faith.
Pray with me that Jesus would give the struggling addict the hope and courage they need to get up when they fall and seek help in spite of their shame and guilt. Proverbs 24:16 says, “The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.” In His Service

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. He will shield you with His wings. He will shelter you with His feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. PSALM 91; 1-4

THE SEARCH for SIGNIFICANCE, by Robert S. McGee (Seeing your TRUE WORTH through GOD’S EYES)
This study will focus on how our thoughts affect our emotional, relational and spiritual development. Our feelings, behavior, and beliefs all interact to shape our lives. The goal is to enable a wide range of people to apply the Scriptures specifically and deeply to real issues in their lives. There are two possible options we can choose to determine our self-worth.
The world’s system: Self-Worth=Performance (what you do + Other’s Opinions) (what others think or say about you). I must meet certain standards to feel good about myself. I must have the approval of (boss, friends, parents, etc.) to approve of myself. I am what I am. I cannot change. I am hopeless. I am the sum total of all my past successes and failures.
God’s System: Self-Worth = God’s Truth about You. Through his intellect, free will, and emotions, man was to be the showcase for God’s glorious character .How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we belong to Christ. Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1: 3-4. Ladies come and let us learn together “Who We Are In Christ:” Beginning: OCTOBER 16, 2017 Monday’s from 5:30~7PM at Hope Ministries
“LOVE IS A CHOICE” THE DEFINITIVE BOOK ON LETTING GO OF UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS.
Tuesday’s from 5:30PM - 7:00PM, at Hope Ministries beginning November 7, 2017.
Codependency (in its broadest sense) can be defined as "an addiction to people, behaviors, or things.”Codependency is the fallacy of trying to control interior feelings by controlling people, things, and events on the outside. To the codependent, control or the lack of it is central to every aspect of life. God wants us to have healthy relationships with a balance between being dependent and independent. The most effective means for overcoming codependent relationships is to establish a relationship with Christ Himself. Ladies, let’s take this healing journey together from Codependency to interdependence with God the one with the power to bring it about.
I can also do these studies individually on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday by appointment between 9-5PM, call Hope Ministries at 321-676-5588; ask for Linda Dixon for appointment or to sign up for the studies.
CHILDCARE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THESE BOOK STUDIES

Praise be to Jesus! He has been with us during the physical and emotional storms of our life; for he says, “do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21. As many ask him to help pick up the pieces of our storms we must rise to the occasion. I have found myself asking a lot lately the question of what do I need to do or learn from this storm? He is guiding me in the direction He wants me to go. Everything is back to normal here at Hope Ministries and the doors are open to all, as we turn to Christ for all our answers. Our Hope family is here to council and be part of your Christ family as we get back to our first love. Ryan’s Hope is gearing up for another 5k run in January so check out his Face-book page to get signed up.
