Praise Be unto Jesus!!!!!
We are very busy at Hope preparing for the Ryan’s Hope 5K Run. How exciting it is to come along side Peggy Briede and her family to honor Ryan who became one of the victims of the Pill Mills in our state of Florida.
We thank God for our City of Palm Bay Leaders, who on July 2, 2013 made a Proclamation that the month of July will be
“Addictions Awareness Month”, in our City of Palm Bay!
How Great is our God to honor us with leaders with a heart for Him.
I would like to thank the dedicated staff and volunteers at Hope Ministries and throughout our community who vigorously supported the fundraising events this year. I Praise God for you all. Always remember, our strength is in God not in our own abilities, but Faith in the provisions of our God as His children. “In this world you will have troubles, but take heart, I have overcome the world(John 16:33)
“We love you Father”, in the Name of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit by Faith.

I guess some people are wondering who Ryan is and why his name is all over Facebook. I am Ryan's mom and I would like to share our story for those who don't know. Ryan struggled for a few years with addiction to pain medicine. His addiction began by smoking marijuana and escalated to visiting a doctor in West Palm Beach seeking pain pills.
Ryan was a very caring person. He was always willing to help anyone with anything. I knew that the person seeking those pills was not my Ryan. I tried to find help for him but doors were shut in my face because we did not have insurance. I tried to find help but felt very alone. I watched as My Ryan hated himself for what he was doing. I felt so helpless. I found myself going to places that I should not have to get him. I called the police in hopes that he would go to jail so I didn't have to worry about him being on the streets. Eventually Ryan lost the battle here on earth.
Ryan passed away on March, 21 2008. I was lost without My Ryan and did not want to live any more. I shut my curtains and lived in darkness .Then one day I went to Hope Ministries for counseling because I was holding my family back from grieving. They were unable to move on because they had to worry about me. What I was told is that I was not alone and That God Loved me and He wanted to show me how much He Loved me. All that I had to do was accept His Love. So I did, and I watched and felt His Love. This place called Hope Ministries sent people to get help for their addiction and I saw people getting healed. I totally felt and saw Love in this place. I decided that I wanted to be part of that. Then the healing came to me. I decided that I had to share what I found: I was a lost person before I found out what true Love is and how to receive it as well as give it away. I don’t want anyone to feel alone. If anyone reads my story and is struggling with addiction or has a loved one who is, please contact me. I just want you to know you are not alone. We are having this Ryan's Hope 5k run to make people aware of what help there is out there. There will be resources out at the run. I will be there wearing a T shirt with Ryan's picture on it if you need to talk to me. I would like to see all that have fought the battle of addiction, and won to walk or run with your head up high and to show others that it can be done. Thank you ahead of time for being there. In the Love of Christ, Peggy Briede
There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
We tend to schedule our days away as we fill our calendar with so many Nouns, yes Nouns. People, Places, and Things keep us so busy. Can you believe Nouns keep us Stressed, Upset, Anxious, Distracted, Fearful, and Ready to give up sometimes?
These same Nouns cause some of us to look for help in the wrong Nouns like Pity, Envy, Discouragement, and Judgment. This can cause us to look to Drink, Drugs and Poor relational choices for some kind of relief to overcome the cycle we put ourselves in.
Yes again, most of the time we schedule in too much. Today, begin to live “One Day at a Time.” Yesterday is gone and Tomorrow may not come!
“Today is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” PSALMS 118:24
At Hope Ministries, we share the Lord and He heals Body, Soul and Spirit in every avenue of the life He has given us.
He alone is the answer to all our Nouns.
We will complete the first 16 week Co-dependency class of “Bondage to Bonding” on July 24, 2013.
All who have attended want to do it again. It is an excellent study. I recommended it highly. I may do another in September on Wednesday’s from 5:30-7:00PM, so check our website (www.hopeministriesflorida.org) for more information.
SHELTER FROM THE STORM
Did you know? Every fourth woman you see may have experienced sexual abuse as a child. One in every five women suffered child sexual abuse by a family member. In addition to the children who are sexually abused, many adults have been assaulted by an acquaintance or stranger.
The book the group will cover is designed to help you grow from a survivor to an over comer – even a thriver.Recognize old coping skills that no longer work and help you learn new life skills.
Experience the support of compassionate and caring women, as you seek recovery from the effects of sexual abuse, to put your faith and trust in God through Christ to restore your spiritual and emotional health.
I will begin a Sexual Abuse Recovery Support Group,
“Shelter from the Storm” on September 16, 2013.
It will be held at Hope Ministries located at 1805 Canova St SE, Palm Bay, Fl 32909 on Mondays from 5:30~7:00PM.Child Care Not Provided. Book is $ 20.00, which have to be ordered so please call Linda at Hope 321~676~5588 if you plan to attend.
I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest ~ I would flee far away and stay in the desert; I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.” Psalm 55:6-8

Progress is being made on the design of a new web site to encourage Fire & Rescue workers with weight and obesity issues.
The site will be www.firefighter.weightloss.com and it will be up and running in the next 30 days.
A lack of available funds is slowing the progress of the ministry.
Let’s support our local Hero’s !
“Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured in your lap. For with the measure you use, it will measured to you.” Luke 6:38
Where am I stuck?
The truth is, if I knew where I was stuck I wouldn't be stuck. So, I need some help. God is ever present wanting to help me but sometimes I just don't hear very well. When I realize that I ask for help. Somewhere I'm believing a lie. Discerning the particular lie and hearing what Jesus says to us brings freedom. One of the primary reasons Hope exists is to come alongside our brothers and sisters where they are stuck.
If you or a friend need help getting un-stuck; call Hope for an appointment.
May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with Hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
