Dec 13, 2010
May all the Praise, Honor, Glory and Power be unto our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has translated us from the Kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light!
December already! It seems this year has gone by in a blink of an eye. Christmas, New Year’s and into 2011 we go. I think this past year of 2010 has been a preliminary training as to how we go on from here. Instead of expressing all the needs we have at Hope, I would ask you to consider the words of Jesus’ mother, Mary. “I am the Lord’s servant”. Luke 1:38; in the simplicity of this statement lies the truth. No matter what battles we may be facing whether personal, relational, marital or financial, we must come to the realization that He is in control of all life. Our response is the same for all the situations of life, “I am the Lord’s servant.”
This Christmas season, let us receive the Good News of Luke 2:10, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news
of great joy that will be for all the people.”
The Staff of Hope Ministries thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that you have done and will do, because
we do realize that we are the servants of the Lord and there is no greater way for us.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year in the Lord, Joe
A TESTIMONY OF THE TRANSFORMING POWER OF GOD IN THE LIFE OF ONE OF HIS CHILDREN!
What do you do when you live your whole life as one big fat lie? What do you do when you are made to believe that all the people who claim to be trying to help you are actually trying to hurt you? What do you do when you don’t trust anyone, not even yourself?
It is a terrible cycle, how do you break it? Nothing short of a miracle can. It can only be God.
A miracle of God brought two loving people into my life, (spiritual adopted parents). They loved me with God’s unconditional love. It took their love and patience before I could even trust anyone. One day they suggested I seek counseling. I didn’t want to but eventually I did. I was counseled for about a year.
Some time later my nightmares, etc., had returned and I reluctantly sought counseling. I was referred to a biblical counselor at Hope Ministries but every fiber of my being wanted to run. I decided that I wasn’t going to tell her a thing. I was terrified of telling my story of abuse. To my surprise, I found only love and compassion as she shared her story first. She explained how she used to behave and how she was now. How as she surrendered her will and life to God he healed her heart, mind and soul. I couldn’t believe my ears, for the first time in my life I had hope that I could be different. I tried for many years to be what my family wanted me to be, but I kept failing. When I tried to consider the source, I was told that I was the crazy one. I had no one to guide me into a healthy loving, Christian lifestyle. I received hope at Hope. She shattered the walls that I had built within five minutes of my walking in and I began to talk. She was the first counselor that was just like me. She cared, she loved, she understood, and most importantly, she validated me. I no longer felt crazy. I continued going to her for quite some time and still keep in touch with her. We have formed a special bond, and I’m truly blessed that she is a part of my life. My counselor, spiritual adopted parents, and my best friend played an instrumental part in my recovery including getting me to the Women’s Refuge.
So who started all this? GOD. Who is faithful to complete all of this? GOD. Who do I thank for all this? GOD.
May God use me, and may I always be humble, remembering how I used to be. I pray this with gratitude, love and faith.

What We Believe We Receive The Benefit Of
Our life experiences are the source of some of our deepest beliefs. Lies that we learn experientially in our past color our view of God, family, friends and ourselves. The events that help to shape these lies are often buried in our subconscious. Even though we do not actively “remember” the lie, we react to our world on the basis of these lies. Often because you believe you’re not worthy of love, you interpret what people do and say as being mean or hurtful when they were simply preoccupied with a crisis in their own life. We actually receive hurt because their actions are similar to a past event in which someone DID hurt you. You believe that they couldn’t possibly love you and do not have your best interest at heart. Identifying your true belief is only part of the battle you face to find freedom. Changing your belief is the ONLY way to permanently change your behavior and find the peace and freedom Christ promises us. Because you learned this lie through an experience, it is engrained in who you are. Theophostic Prayer serves as a tool to gain the truth of Christ that will set you free from the hidden lies you believe. The experience of Christ speaking directly to you will change your belief, canceling the lie causing your pain. When the light of Christ shines into your past experience, the lies and darkness simply disappear. If you are stuck in emotional pain that doesn’t make sense to you, give Hope Ministries a call to set up an appointment for Theophostic Prayer Ministry.

Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6: 38
Christmas is a wonderful mystery. If we are to find meaning in it we have to enter into a mysterious, misunderstood Holy Day, become childlike and allow ourselves to be swept along by celebration. This has little to do with buying gifts, and pageantry, but rather by being Christmas to those around us.
We at Hope have found a gift that grows with use. We receive joy in being here for others who need “Someone”. We know if we trust Him and wait on His best plan; God who sees, hears, and cares will work all things together for our good. If you belong to Christ, you have this gift also and Christmas is about being Christmas to others. Mary Fischer
