"JESUS THE RESURRECTION"

Mar 29, 2010

PRAISE BE UNTO OUR JESUS….WHO WAS AND IS TO COME!

He is our Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end. The totality of His being is all over and around us.
Jesus said in Mark 9: 23, “Anything is possible for him who believes.” The trouble lies in what we believe.
Do we believe in the things of this world, or do we believe in the things of Heaven? Do we believe our Father of life is all powerful, all knowing and all present, by Faith? If so there would be no other choice for us, because nothing else would matter.

He is Resurrection Power and by His Holy Spirit we live in Him and He in us.Remember this Easter Season; John 15:16
“You didn’t choose me.I chose you.Iappointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using My name.”
I’m glad that God has chosen Hope Ministries to go and yield eternal fruit by appointing us through His Holy Spirit
to “Help Hearts Heal” in His name!
In Christ, Joe

Romans 5:1-5 (NIV)
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Dear Friends of Hope,
The above scripture talks about “HOPE.” We need to place our hope in the one who is the author of hope, Jesus Christ Himself. Placing hope anywhere else will only result in misery. The only thing that is worse than misplaced hope is not having HOPE at all!
I received a call on Monday night from a guy who was in the process of going through a divorce. He was put in the mental hospital a few weeks earlier because he was threatening to commit suicide. When he called me last week he wanted help and asked if he could get together with me. We talked on the phone for about twenty-five minutes and made an appointment for him to come to Hope Ministries to see me the next day. He seemed hopeful, by the end of our conversation, later that evening he called his wife to inform her of his plans. In the process they got into an argument on the phone. He hung up and later that night drove to a secluded place and called his wife again. They had some words over the phone and while she was on the phone with him, he committed suicide. The wife was beside herself. She called the police but no one knew where he was. Later that morning they found him dead, still holding his cell phone.
That is a difficult legacy for his wife and children. It seems that suicide and murder/suicides are in the news just about every week lately. When someone loses “HOPE” nothing else in their lives seems to make any sense. In times like this I begin to question why I am in this field of work; rather then doing something else. Usually, after the emotions and thoughts pass, my sanity returns. That is when I realize that I do what I do because I want to make a difference in hurting people’s lives. I know that God has called me to this kind of work but that doesn’t make it any easier whenever I am forced to face suicide.
REMEMBER, SUICIDE IS A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO A TEMPORARY PROBLEM!
Pray for the many people all around us who have no hope and who are being battered on every side by life. Pray that they would find their “Hope” in Jesus. At Hope Ministries we see people who are desperate and many who have lost all hope. We covet your prayers as we minister to hurting people every day. Your gifts, your prayers and your partnership with us at Hope Ministries is a constant encouragement to the people working here. Thank you for being a part of our team. Because of Christ, Lew Gervais
