SPRING OF HOPE
April 2, 2008
MINSITRIES NEWSLETTER “Spring of Hope 2008" "GREETINGS FROM JOE PELLIZZE,PRESIDENT" Once again I sit, with pen in hand, asking for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to give me the message for this newsletter. First of all, I desire for our Lord and Savior to receive all the Glory, all the Honor, and all the Praise through our Surrendered lives unto Him, in the form of Hope Ministries. All of us at Hope pray that we would become an extension of our Father’s heart to all of his children; as He directs them through our threshold, regardless of their financial condition. This is a Season of Thanksgiving for “He is Risen”! I believe our Father will continue to bless us, through your prayers and financial support because all sustenance comes solely from Him to everyone! For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a Spirit of Power, of Love, and of Self-discipline.” 2Timothy 1:7 May I close with a reminder from Philippians 4:4-7; “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again; Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request unto God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Finally; “May the God of Hope fill you with all Joy and Peace as you trust in Him, so that we may overflow with Hope by the Power of the Holy Spirit! Romans15:13 Love in Christ, Joe MINISTRY FOCUS “NET TRAINING CLASSES” Our classes provide training in counseling, addictions, prevention and recovery support ministry using sound curriculum that is both Christ-centered as well as state certified for CEU's. COUNSELOR’S CORNER "A HEART STORY" Growing up with an absent mother and an angry controlling father wasn’t easy. My circumstances ingrained in me a lot of bad relationship patterns and sinful ways to cope with life. I viewed God as one who punishes severely like my father and one who would not forgive. Boy was I wrong, I thought that if I avoided God he wouldn’t deal with me; that I could escape God, so I ran to drugs, alcohol and sex. I went down a very rebellious and sinful path, but God was persistent. He had to get me to where I lost everything, for me to see how I really needed Him! I don’t believe God did this to be cruel, but so I could become stronger in Him. God had to strip from me every ounce of security I had. My dad moved to another state; I broke up with my fiancé; I lost my job; I became an alcoholic; was raped; lost my place to sleep and ended up living in my car. I had nothing, and no one to turn to, until one Sunday I returned to church and my pastor, who cared about me. I rededicated my life to Christ and I wanted to make a change. I knew if I continued my sinful life I would be dead. Everything was sort of a blur until I realized that in my sinful life I had lost who I really was. I found who God was and why he sent his only Son! His ONLY SON to die for ME! My sins are forgiven, that was a new concept for me…...AMAZING! In the world I had lost my joy. God not only gave back my joy he also gave me a new identity in Christ. I am pure now. I love life and rejoice for the life I am now living here. I see God now, as the father who would never leave me. He loves me more than any human being ever could. He is the perfect father, brother, husband and provider. HE IS MY LIFE! "SPRING OF HOPE" BE A PARTNER IN HOPE TO “HELP HEARTS HEAL" Hope’s PR & Development Department The first quarter of 2008 at Hope Ministries has truly been “In Development.” We have already experienced some new and exciting things this year. We held our first Informational and Inspirational Luncheon. What a pleasure it was to have guest from the community attend to learn about the services Hope offers and enjoy friendly fellowship. Our next luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10th at 11:45 – 1:00 PM. We completed Phase I of our “Facilities Face Lift” project that included repainting and decorating our three restrooms. It has been a joy for me to see how pleased our staff is with the newly decorated restrooms. Phase II of the project is to repaint and decorate the Reception Room; scheduled for the end of April. Special thanks to our Board of Directors who personally funded Phase I. I am very pleased to announce that the first of several grant applications scheduled for the year is “in the mail.” Please join us in prayer for God’s guidance in choosing the Granter’s, whom He has designed to help us “Help Hearts Heal.” I want to invite and strongly encourage all Counselors, Pastors, Physicians and Emergency Care workers to attend a very important workshop/luncheon we are offering called: “Suffering in Silence” Hidden Head and Brain Injury, resulting from Domestic Violence. At this workshop you will learn the red flags that will enable the care taker to spot a client who may have a hidden head or brain injury. “Suffering in Silence” will be held at The Hilton Rialto in Melbourne on Friday, April 11, 2008; 10AM -2PM(only 50 seats). The cost is only $45.00 of which $ 20.00 is tax deductible. Please call Linda or me today for your reservation @321-676-5588, or email us @ info@hopeministriesflorida.org.
